Welcome to the Old West Challenge blog. Our goal for this blog is to keep everyone updated and informed about this great event that is coming in the Fall of this year. We also want to form a community through social media and the blog.
Okay let's start with the first questions- What is the Old West Horse and Rider Challenge? Well it's a four phase versatility challenge not unlike other versatility challenges expect for the fact that it is set in the Old West . What does that mean? It's fairly simple competitors our asked to dress the part, everything is done in an Old West motif and we want everyone who attends spectators as well competitor to feel like they have spent the day in the Old West.
So many of us grew up watching TV Westerns whether it was Bonanza, The Virginian or GunSmoke and we all have fond memories of those westerns. It only seemed natural to combine our love horses with those great childhood memories for this great event.
